EMDR Lebanon Association is organizing a another 2-days workshop that is being presented by Dr. Joany Spierings from the Netherlands. She is a clinical psychologist, a certified EMDR therapist since 1994, and a senior approved consultant in EMDR Europe Association. She is a founding member of the EMDR Europe Association and EMDR Holland Association.

This advanced EMDR workshop aims to teach clinicians who are trained in EMDR therapy when we work with severely damaged clients that EMDR-processing may not go smoothly. Therefore, a more active approach is called for to bring trauma resolution. In EMDR therapy, this type of intervening is called ‘(cognitive) interweaving’. The therapist may need to intervene on the process level with ‘process interweaves’ in order to keep the client within his window of (affect) tolerance. Also, when the client gets stuck on a specific problem and is unable to solve it with the information that he has available, the therapist has to intervene on the content level with ‘content interweaves’.

This workshop is only open to clinicians who are fully trained in EMDR Therapy, that is, those who have received the “Certificate of Completion” of the Basic EMDR Therapy Training Course as required by EMDR Institute USA, EMDRIA, and EMDR Europe Association.

This workshop is being presented in English, but instant Arabic translation is provided. Handouts and materials will be both in English and Arabic.

At the end of the 2-days workshop, the participants will receive a “Certificate of Attendance” and 13 EMDRIA credits of continued education units (CEU).

N.B. Full Attendance is a must. It is important to note that the “Certificate of Attendance” will not be delivered for those who miss any of the sessions.
