Children & Adolescents EMDR Training Course Group 2

The Children & Adolescents EMDR Training Course was presented again to a second group of EMDR therapists, specifically to those who have recently graduated from the Basic EMDR Therapy training course. This 4-day intensive workshop proved to be an enriching experience, offering both instruction and practice, and granting participants 24 EMDRIA continued education credits.
A total of 19 EMDR therapists attended the course at the Golden Palace Serenada Hotel from May 29 to June 1, 2023, to delve into the world of children and. This event marked an opportunity for these professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge in the specialized field of EMDR therapy for young individuals.
The course was led by the EMDR Europe Accredited Children & Adolescents EMDR Trainer, Mrs. Susan Darker-Smith, from the United Kingdom. Mrs. Darker-Smith brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the event, ensuring that participants received the highest quality training.
Assisting Mrs. Susan Darker-Smith was a dynamic team of facilitators. Mr. Johny Moran, an Accredited Children & Adolescents EMDR Consultant from Ireland, and Lina Ibrahim, an Approved EMDR Consultant from Lebanon, provided additional support and guidance to participants throughout the training course.
The participants learned how to modify the standard EMDR Protocol to fit the age development and diversity of children. The workshop was full of creative and fun activities to use within EMDR to help the children overcome their psychological difficulties and reach agood resolution.
The participants now must work with 6 children/adolescents and get supervision from an approved EMDR consultant to ensure that they can provide the best care possible to their young beneficiaries.
